My wife and I moved to St Louis for her new position with SSM Health and affiliated hospitals. We saw a house for sale that we liked and saw Joe was the listing agent. I called Joe asking if he could show us the house and represent us as our buyer's agent. We didn't end up getting that house but closed on another house that we found with Joe's help.
Review:
I have been hesitant of realtors because I didn't feel like my realtors did enough based on my past experiences with home buying. I was proven VERY VERY wrong by Joe. The rest of this review will sound like a sales pitch but he earned every little but of it. He is definitely one of the most easy going, dependable, knowledgeable, and dedicated realtors I have come across. We were in St Louis for the weekend and I called Joe on a Fri evening asking him to show us houses. We ended up seeing 30 houses over the next day and a half and didn't love any of them. We told Joe we would be back in 3 weeks and he was in contact with us ahead of time sending us links to houses he thought would work out for us (not the auto-generated MLS criteria search listings). He is very knowledge with regards to home construction based on all his renovation experience and he knows St Louis and the surrounding areas very well. My wife and I were very focused on the Ballwin area and he helped level set us on houses when it seemed like we were letting emotions get the best of us by talking through true costs of ownership based on various fixes that he could foresee in the near future. He was 100% committed to helping us find the perfect house at the best value and less worried about just getting us in a house and moving on. He was available ALL the time through the phone and was more than willing to meet us if we went to a random open house and liked what we saw. My wife and I decided to put an offer on the house in the final 50 minutes (multiple offer situation with a deadline) and Joe drafted the contract right away and sent it to us to sign. Once our offer got accepted my wife and I headed back to Columbus Ohio for 6 weeks so my wife could deliver our daughter and we could spend her 6 weeks of FMLA with our family in Columbus. Joe handled EVERYTHING for us back in St Louis. We wanted to get the house painted and get new carpet. Joe was there to meet all the contractors and show them the house while we were out of state. He scheduled the contractors so they would start working as soon as we closed on the house. Our house closed on a Monday and we drove straight to our new house the following Sunday (6 days later) and it was fully painted and new carpet was installed on the entire upper level. He helped us pick paint color & style as well as carpet specs based on his renovation experience. He stopped by the house almost daily AFTER closing sending me pictures/face timing the progress by the contractors and stayed in touch with the contractors to make sure the work got done. My wife and I were a bit nervous because we never physically saw the paint color or carpet that Joe recommended but when we entered the house everything looked amazing.
My wife and I cant say enough good things about Joe. He made it feel like a family member of ours was looking over everything for us while we were out of state. On multiple occasions my wife asked me if Joe had any other clients. That's a true testament to his commitment and dedication as Joe was handling multiple clients and business ventures at the same time. As long as Joe was involved we didn't worry about anything. He focused on EVERYTHING related to the house so we could focus our time on moving from Columbus and spending time with our newborn. Thank you for everything Joe!
Having limited experience before the process began, we were very cautious in our approach. Joe took his time to educate us and was EXTREMELY PATIENT as we learned the process for ourselves. Specifically, as our requirements evolved, Joe was flexible to accommodate these vastly changing prerequisites. Moreover, Joe was very candid about the marketplace and his FULL TRANSPARENCY APPROACH was very reassuring throughout.
I don't write reviews often...if ever. But, I wanted to make sure to do so for Joe. Buying a home can be one of the most stressful, time consuming and frustrating events we can go through. Please trust me when I tell you that if you use Joe, he will be as much of a friend, as he is your agent. (And, if you've been through the process before, you know exactly how important that can be).
Lastly, everyone wants to get the best deal possible, whether buying, or selling. Perhaps Joe's best trait, (Besides his patience, market knowledge and general likeability), is the fact he is VERY HONEST and will not only get you the best deal possible, but he will have an open book policy regarding all of his actions.
If you are "shopping" for agents, please do yourself a favor and call him.
Next time we buy/sell, I wouldn't consider calling anyone else.

Joe responded to my request to see a house within hours, and helped set up a showing for the very next day. We were on a tight schedule since my GF was living out of town at the time and could not visit often.
Throughout the whole process Joe made it very simple to understand all the ins and outs, he answered all my questions thoroughly and helped me understand whatever I was confused about. He knew the areas and gave me great advice as far as resale value, rental potential, safety, and more.
Every time I needed to get a hold of Joe he always responded within hours, and was never impatient with me. He made it easy to see houses and made it easy to feel comfortable with him and that he was on my side in this process.
His negotiation skills were excellent as well, he really helped me get a steal on my house and helped make the closing process as smooth and easy as possible.
I know this is only my first time buying a home, but I did deal with another agent and can honestly say Joe was FAR superior. I would absolutely recommend Joe to any prospective home buyer, new or otherwise!
